My name’s Heather, and I’m a graduate student who likes bugs, microbes, and parasites. Now that I have completely grossed you out I am also a crafty business owner, nature lover and bibliophile.

Many of my friends call me Mori, the Japanese word for forest. (And a shortened version of my last name, which was useful when there were five other Heathers). Forests and gardens go together like beans and rice; hence the name of this blog. I’ll try to remember to post something regularly, but don’t hold your breath!

I can’t wait to make some new friends here on wordpress, so please introduce yourselves^^
