Pecan Praline Pie Recipe

This recipe is made by my family every year for Thanksgiving. It’s almost fool proof, has no messy corn syrup, and tastes delicious. We call this pie the “state winning pie”; years ago my brother and I made it for a 4H competition and beat even the adult categories for best in show at that year’s state fair. It’s that good!

Pecan Pie

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons flour
2 Tablespoons milk
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 cups chopped pecans

Pecan Pie
1, Mix butter, brown sugar, salt, and flour

Pecan Pie
2, Add milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend well.

Pecan Pie
3, Stir in pecans, then pour into pie shell

Pecan Pie
4, Bake at 170 C (350 F) for about 60 minutes, or until only the center of the pie is still slightly jiggly.

Makes one nine inch deep dish pie.

    • Right. There is no such thing as a bad time for pie!

I have also made this recipe with little pie shells too, which would be great for a party or cookie trade. I think I ended up with about 2 dozen pies using the shells that are about 4 inches across. You might need a few more nuts if you make mini pies, or like the last chocolate chip cookie the last pie might be a bit sparse^^
