This recipe is made by my family every year for Thanksgiving. It’s almost fool proof, has no messy corn syrup, and tastes delicious. We call this pie the “state winning pie”; years ago my brother and I made it for a 4H competition and beat even the adult categories for best in show at that year’s state fair. It’s that good!
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons flour
2 Tablespoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 cups chopped pecans
Makes one nine inch deep dish pie.
